Historic brick architecture, modern timber structures and carefully designed interiors characterise Landhaus Averbeck in the Lüneburg South Heath. For many years, this family-run hotel has been carefully developing a farmstead first mentioned in records in 1357, combining the character of the established complex with contemporary architecture. The farm has been in the family since the early 16th century and has been passed down through the generations to this day. The main house dates from 1909, whilst the historic barn dates from 1870. All existing buildings have been carefully modernised and complemented by new structures that offer a contemporary interpretation of traditional farm architecture. In 2018, Carsten Iseken of Iseken Architektur added two new family cabins to the complex. Two timber structures, offset against one another, echo the form of the archetypal gabled-roof house and blend seamlessly into the historic complex. In 2023, the historic barn was converted into a further leisure area. As part of the most recent expansion, two apartments were built on the horse farm in 2025, and extensive renovation work on the farmhouse and the paddock house was completed in 2026. The construction work was carried out predominantly by regional companies using renewable materials. The interior design was developed by Désirée Smith, supported by lighting design from Dominique Wagner of raumlicht planungsbüro. Today, the farm complex comprises individually designed rooms and apartments, as well as dining, wellness and leisure areas. Despite the different uses, a harmonious overall picture emerges, combining the historic building fabric, contemporary architecture and a carefully coordinated interior design.

At Landhaus Averbeck, switches and sockets from the LS 990 range are used in various shades from Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier®. To complement the respective interior design, the control elements have been finished in LC 32111 l’ocre rouge moyen, LC 32081 orange clair, LC 32091 rose pâle, LC 32022 outremer clair, LC 32060 ocre, LC 32013 gris clair 31, LC 4320L light yellow ochre and LC 32142 light natural shade. In this way, the switches echo the individual colour schemes of the guest rooms and public areas, becoming a natural part of the overall architectural concept. The colour shades define the hotel’s distinctive interior spaces: Warm ochre, orange and terracotta shades complement the cosy rooms and lounge areas, whilst soft shades of pink add accents to the wardrobes and entrance areas of the rooms. Cool shades of blue and grey characterise individual guest rooms with a calm, understated atmosphere. The coloured switches and sockets echo the design and blend tone-on-tone with the walls and furnishings. In this way, the electrical fittings themselves become part of the interior design and underline the hotel’s high design standards right down to the last detail.

It is precisely through the interplay of historic features, contemporary additions and the carefully coordinated colour scheme that the Averbeck country house reveals its unique atmosphere. JUNG’s switches and sockets become an integral part of an architectural and interior design concept that has been thought through down to the last detail.
