Apartment at the tower, Vilnius | Lithuania
The minimalist designed, new build apartment is located on the upper floors of a high-rise residential building in the centre of Vilnius.
The contemporary interior is based on a clear spatial logic and reduced form. The open passage between the living area, kitchen and bathroom is differentiated by contrasts: light, calm wall surfaces meet functional zones lined in dark fabric. The concept of yin and yang can be seen in the balance of light and shadows - the lounge remains spacious while the kitchen and bathroom seem more compact.
In the centre of the apartment, the kitchen island functions as a threshold between the two areas. Its light surface and dark fronts structure the room, without interrupting the flow. Mist-free, flush-mounted furniture fronts as well as clear, cubic bathroom furniture strengthen the impression of visual order. Large, natural stone slabs and warm, indirect lighting characterise the atmosphere in the bathroom.
For the operating level, the design settled on flush-mounted, integrated switches which continue the creative line. LS 990 in aluminium, anthracite and matt snow white pick up the different colour moods of the zones but remain understated. They are naturally integrated in the interior concept and support the visual clarity and minimalist character.
