Apartment in Rotterdam | The Netherlands
In an apartment in Rotterdam, Femkeido created an interior which links vibrant colours with warm materials and individually made fittings.
The starting point was the request of the resident for a comfortable home with a unique character. While the kitchen and bathroom were already established, the room structure of the remaining areas could be rethought. This is particularly clear in the spacious master bedroom. Custom-made sliding elements in dark wood, bronze-coloured steel and ribbed glass divide the room and partition off a workspace as well as the walk-in wardrobe. Lines of sight are retained due to their transparency and clearly defined areas are also created. The light herringbone flooring forms a serene contrast to this and visually brings together the different zones. Colour plays a central role in the design. Deep blue characterises the walls and ceilings, meeting dark woods, structured textiles and targeted, bold accents. The ceilings are also consciously integrated into the colour concept. Wall and ceiling colours merge directly into one another. Selected lamps, artworks and personal items complement the customised elements and give the rooms their individual character.
LS 990 in the shade Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® 4320K bleu outremer 59 is used in keeping with the colour concept. The intensive blue picks up the colour scheme of the interior and naturally integrates switches and sockets into the design.
