GEMÜ Headquarters, Kupferzell | Germany
With the new headquarters in Kupferzell, the GEMÜ Group packages the space for administration, meeting areas and gastronomy under one roof for a worldwide manufacturer of valve, measurement and control systems. In around 18,000 m², a group of buildings has been built that combines functional work areas with open communication zones and at the same time makes the identity of the company spatially tangible.
Schmelzle+Partner mbB Architekten BDA developed a building that is characterised by clarity and openness. A generous atrium forms the centre and networks the different areas visually and spatially. The transparent structure promotes exchange and enables flexible forms of work. The company restaurant is also an integral component of the concept: it creates not only subsistence but also places for meeting and informal communication. The design is based on precise material selection and clear cubage. Extensive glazing areas allow large amounts of daylight into the interior while restrained surfaces support the businesslike architecture. A variety of different working and social zones is characteristic, each of which has its own independent character. With a conscious choice of colour and material, the areas are clearly separated from each other – an orientation aid in daily life that endows both atmosphere and identity. In this way, a sequence of differentiated spaces is created that form a coherent whole despite their differences.
KNX-based building technology from JUNG is used to control light, air conditioning and shade in the headquarters. Smart Panels, presence detectors and operating units as KNX F 50 and F 10 push-buttons in stainless steel ensure energy-efficient processes and flexible usability. Complementary to this, classic switch ranges such as LS 990 in stainless steel and A CREATION in glass integrate themselves into the architecture. In the gastronomy area, USB sockets offer practical extra value, while the JUNG emergency system set ensures safety.
The clear architectural position and the successful combination of function, room quality and technical equipment were awarded the German Design Award 2025, the Iconic Award 2025 and have been nominated for the award of Best Workplace 2026.

F 10 push-button
The F 10 push-buttons look like classic light switches but master smart KNX technology. Many functions in only one device.
KNX Smart Panel
Intuitive operation, fast commissioning: The KNX Smart-Panel touchscreen and internal software are used to control and visualise lighting, shutters, heating, air conditioning, and alarm systems.
KNX push-button sensors
Convenient control: Large buttons are used to operate all the KNX functions. The button covers are available in neutral or with arrow symbol designs. In addition, there is the option to individually laser-print or print on the buttons.

Smart building automation combines convenience, security and energy efficiency. For this reason KNX has already become the standard worldwide for high-class private and commercial construction. The smart JUNG KNX solutions combine function, design and intuitive ease of operation.
A CREATION
The duroplastic version comes in white, black, aluminium, champagne and mocha or in unbreakable thermoplastic in matt anthracite and high-gloss white. This way the wide functional variety of A CREATION perfectly covers all the areas of modern electrical installation.
LS 990 in Stainless Steel
A prestigious interior derives its appeal from exclusive effects. The design switches in high-grade metal versions satisfy this standard outstandingly well. Cool stainless steel, aluminium or attractive anthracite, chrome or precious gold plating – they lend a special touch wherever the emphasis is on the extra-special. Two variations of genuine brass complement the portfolio: Classic with a bright, softly polished finish, antique suitable for traditional interiors.
