The Residences 38, Bangkok | Thailand

With "The Residences 38", a residential project has been created in the Sukhumvit district of Bangkok which combines contemporary architecture with elements of classic French interior design. ACPV ARCHITECTS applies this approach to a clear, geometric design.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing opens up the interior spaces to the city and lets plenty of daylight into the living and sleeping areas. The conservative colour scheme brings the materials and surfaces to the fore. Light textiles and natural stone form a contrast to dark wood and black details, while artworks and individual pieces of furniture bring out specific features. Linear lighting systems take up the geometric arrangement of the rooms and support their clear division - from the open living area to the private rooms. The LS 990 range in lacquered, dark aluminium is used for the electrical installation. The dark finish picks up the recurring accents of the interior and contrasts perfectly with the light wall surfaces, natural stone surfaces and textiles. The integration of the switches and sockets in different materials is a special feature: they are used directly in marble surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom while they are fitted into the upholstered headboards of the beds in the sleeping area.
