JUNG bus
The JUNG bus is the installation solution using 24 volt technology. The system only needs a few devices and has a low cable requirement. The JUNG bus system enables central control of fundamental building functions and can often be found in repeating building structures such as hotel rooms.
Elementary components of the electrical installation with the JUNG bus are the relay station for controlling lighting, blinds and shutters, and the dimming station for dimming and switching the lamps. For the operating controls, the system uses sensor modules, push-buttons and the key card holder.
Control of lighting, blinds and shutters
The relay station Universal 8-gang has eight floating outputs for controlling, for example, blinds including slat adjusting. These functions are possible in mixed operation. The practical central function controls the operation of blinds and shutters as well as the lighting. A parallel switching of two relay stations or of a relay station with a dimming station to extend the functions is possible without any problems.
The relay station is controlled using the 2-wire bus technology by the JUNG bus push-buttons or the sensor module. There is also the possibly beyond that to control every output of the relay station using a conventional push-button. There is provision on the input side of the station for an individual contact for each channel.
Dimming and switching the lighting
The dimming station has four channels for dimming and switching the lighting. It offers all the functions of a JUNG dimmer, including a memory function for the brightness value. When switching off the lighting, the so-called dim-down function can be used. After the shut-off delay it continuously lowers the lighting and then switches it off completely. The dimming station can also be operated by integrators using the built-in button panel without any control units being connected, which can be helpful when commissioning, for example. In general, it is possible to connect two dimming stations in parallel to extend the channels. If the shading is to be regulated as well, the dimming station can be connected in parallel with the relay station Universal without any problems.
Operating controls in the JUNG bus system
For convenient operation of the relay and dimming station, we offer three components: the sensor module, push-buttons and the key card holder.
Sensor module
The operating field of the sensor module is divided into 16 sensor points that can each be allocated a function. In addition, multiple functions can be combined into a scene. In this way you can control four different scenes. A light touch of the sensor operating area is enough to run the allocated function or scene. The free allocation offers numerous possibilities to configure the control element with distinctive operating surfaces: images, symbols or text make the allocation of functions easier and show the current settings. For easier installation, the electrician can copy the configuration of the module to others.
You have the possibility to provide the push-buttons with a freely designable insert. You can graphically design all 16 sensor pads of a module completely freely. If you want to emphasise the scene control in the living room, for example, this area is simply given a larger operating surface on its push-button. This makes it easier for you and your guests to notice the functions and makes the individual sensor areas stand out visually.
Push-button
Using the push-buttons, you can control lighting, blinds and shutters with the large operating controls: a press of the button initiates the desired function, which, like the sensor module, can also include scenes. Setting up is achieved by the electrician with key combinations on the device. For more flexibility, the extension module extends a 4-gang push-button, for example, into an 8-gang unit at low cost. The simple set-up allows the configuration of a push-button to be transferred to another device.
Key card holder
In hotel operations, the JUNG bus provides particular convenience for the guests: it is also possible to connect the key card holder at the Universal dimming station. When guests insert the key card, the room lighting switches on automatically as a central function. When the guests take out the card again, the lighting stays on for a minute and the dimming station can still be used. This is followed by a fade-out phase, in which the lighting is dimmed to minimum brightness within three minutes and then switched off.
