The apartment in Riga is characterised above all by its position and its view of the Daugava as well as the silhouette of the old town. The interior design deliberately responds to this environment: large window surfaces, transparent materials and conservative colour schemes direct the focus externally and create a calm, reduced atmosphere inside.

The design concept is based on the interplay of glass, metal and raw materials. Brushed stainless steel, light wooden surfaces and textile structures complement each other in a precise, almost graphical composition. Exposed concrete elements and technical details give the rooms an industrial character which is balanced out by warm wooden floors and soft fabrics. The equipment follows a clear, minimalist line. Custom-made fittings are flush-mounted and blend into the architecture, while individual items of furniture made from steel pipes with polished surfaces set specific highlights. Mirror images and light reflections change the effect of the rooms during the course of the day and reinforce the connection between the interior space, sky and river landscape.
