Embedded in an open landscape of forest, meadow and water, the Villa O is a clearly defined solitary building in the area. The circular building develops a strong spatial presence and enters into a precise dialogue with its environment.

The architecture is based on a simple geometric arrangement. Four enclosed courtyards structure the compact building and open it up to the different landscape areas. The circular form is retained as a cohesive shape. The courtyards bring daylight deep into the building and create sheltered outdoor areas, which link the interior with nature. In the centre of the house there is a circular space which serves as a spatial divider and community hub. The individual living areas develop from here along the outer ring. The kitchen, dining area and lounge flow into each other and are oriented towards different views. Bedrooms, guest rooms and the spa area are significantly understated and follow a calmer atmosphere. In spite of the open structure, the organisation of the house remains clearly readable. Large-scale glazing increases the connection between the architecture and the landscape. The change of light, shadows and seasons is part of the spatial experience. In the interior, light-coloured fittings and reduced surfaces meet exposed concrete and large-scale glazing. Slightly inclined concrete walls give the rooms a sculptural depth and shape the character of the house as well as the precisely executed transitions between the wall, floor and ceiling. Wood and exposed concrete determine the appearance of the building externally and emphasise its calm, monolithic effect.

Switches and sockets from the LS ZERO range in ivory are used. Due to their flush-mounted integration, they take a step back visually and support the clear alignment as well as the reduced material and spatial effect of the interior.
