Casa 1311, Castelldefels | Spain

What makes Castelldefels unique is its perfect access to the beach, its closeness to Barcelona and its small-town atmosphere. In this coastal town, situated around 20 kilometres from Barcelona, the HARQUITECTES architects’ office has realised the Casa 1311.

Casa 1311 is surrounded by a botanical garden. It has an exposed façade that goes well with its natural surroundings. Both the outside and interior walls of the building display brick surfaces. The rust-red bricks have a natural appearance and have an unadorned, minimalist character.  This also applies to the wooden elements of the window frames and the kitchen cupboards.

Exposed concrete elements provide a link between the wall and the unconventional roof design. A special feature of the Casa 1311 is its large glass windows. Its modern roof and the exposed façade first generates a contrast, where the concrete elements dovetail all the different features into a visual whole.

The geometrical form and the contrasting colours of the bricks provide a focus for the LS Cube from JUNG in the Casa 1311. The angular bricks on the walls support their reduced appearance. Their rust-red colour provides a suitable background for this switch range.

Het tijdloze LS 990 als opbouwvariant staat goed op beton of natuursteen. De opbouwkappen hebben al een aangespoten designraam.
