Studio 11K has transformed two former penthouse apartments in the centre of Belgrade into an open, versatile studio space for a film studio. A flexible work environment has emerged in an area of around 200 square metres which can be divided into different zones as required without losing spatial clarity.

The central element of the design is represented by the movable partitions which are not only functional but are also considered an integral part of the concept. They structure the room according to the situation and enable flowing transitions between concentrated individual work and collaborative settings. A sculptural, free-standing metal cylinder forms the spatial and functional centre. Its reflective surface enhances the perception of depth and dynamism. In the interior, it organises all the service functions such as the kitchen, cloakroom, washroom and adjoining rooms, which are opened up using wraparound sliding doors. With the 360 degree movement of these elements, the opening and closing of the doors becomes a performative act.

Extensive mirror surfaces visually extend the room and generate multi-layered reflections depending on the perspective. The concept is supplemented by custom-made furniture, including a multifunctional shelving system in light wood, which links both areas of the room and acts as both an indexing and mobile structure. The material palette combines rough and finished surfaces. Concrete meets stainless steel, mirrored surfaces meet marble, black acoustic foam meets coloured MDF elements and oak veneer. This deliberately restrained combination creates a neutral background which can be flexibly developed with the changing requirements of a production studio. The technical equipment also follows this requirement for clarity and precision. The KNX-based building system enables the intelligent control of the room functions and supports the different usage scenarios. Using the LS 990 switch range in matt black and Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® 4320 W, the electrical installation can be consistently integrated in the architectural concept.
