‘Küchen & Raum by Kürten | Möller’ is a kitchen showroom in Meerbusch that approaches kitchen planning, interior design and lighting design as an integrated spatial concept. Across approximately 400 square metres of exhibition space, ten show kitchens as well as living and dining areas are presented in a variety of usage scenarios. The exhibition is clearly zoned and combines high-quality materials, coordinated colour schemes and flexible lighting scenarios to create a cohesive spatial experience.
The design is based on a cosy, high-quality interior concept. Instead of traditional display areas, the team at ‘Küchen & Raum’ has opted for a series of spaces with varying characters, which present the kitchen, dining and living areas as interconnected living spaces. Natural materials, carefully coordinated finishes and precise lighting design create a tranquil atmosphere in which the impact of materials and details is deliberately brought to the fore. The showroom invites visitors to experience the spaces not only in terms of their functionality, but also in terms of their spatial and atmospheric qualities.
The studio’s technical infrastructure is based on a comprehensive building automation system using KNX. A Smart Visu Server centrally controls the building functions. Manual control of lighting, lighting scenes and other functions is carried out via the LS TOUCH room controller and the F 40 and F 50 touch sensors. The luminaires used are integrated into the building automation system via several DALI gateways and can be controlled individually. This allows different lighting atmospheres to be tailored specifically to the respective exhibition areas, and the effect of materials, colours and surfaces to be altered through the use of light. The premises also serve as the ‘Smart Living Showroom’ for the specialist electrical contractor Elektro Knedel, where visitors can experience the possibilities of networked building technology in a practical setting.
Dark wood finishes, natural stone, metallic accents and a carefully coordinated lighting scheme define the look and feel of the exhibition. The kitchens are not presented as individual products, but as part of holistically designed living environments. This creates an atmosphere more reminiscent of high-quality residential and hospitality concepts than of a traditional kitchen showroom. The electrical installation has been seamlessly integrated into this design concept. Depending on the materials and colour scheme, different switch ranges and finishes from JUNG are used. The LS 990 in Antique Brass and Classic Brass echoes the warm metallic tones of the interior design and adds high-quality accents. The LS 990 in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® in the colour Orange vif serves as a deliberately placed colour accent in individual exhibition areas. The installations are complemented by LS variants in matt snow white, matt anthracite and dark aluminium, as well as by A FLOW in matt snow white and matt black, whose understated design supports the various room concepts. In this way, the electrical installation becomes part of a holistic interior concept in which materials, lighting and architecture are precisely coordinated.
The kitchen showroom thus becomes a showcase for the interplay between interior design, lighting design and smart building technology. Visitors experience the kitchens on display as fully designed living spaces, in which materials, lighting and networked control systems come together to form a holistic spatial concept.

Schnell, einfach und kostengünstig KNX-Installationen visualisieren: Ohne großen Zeitaufwand wird die Inbetriebnahme mit dem Webbrowser vorgenommen.
