Townhouse in Kaunas | Lithuania
Warm materials, clear contrasts and a finely balanced lighting direction characterise the atmosphere of this townhouse which has been designed by Justina Garbštė in Kaunas.
The spatial concept thrives on the conscious interplay of light and dark colour shades which gives depth and dynamism to the interior spaces. Precisely set lines, clear geometry and balanced proportioning structure the rooms and create a consistent design order. This approach is seen particularly in the kitchen with a strictly symmetrically layout. The living areas are in contrast complemented by softer shapes and textile surfaces. A characteristic of the project is the targeted use of different textures and materials. Three-dimensionally structured surfaces, decorative renders and custom-made furniture merge and flow into each other and generate a multi-layered but uncluttered look. Graphically accented surfaces in the bathrooms set bold contrasts without disrupting the harmony of the overall concept. The spacious living area forms the communicative centre of the house, while sculpturally designed lamps give the interior a unique and lively note. The switches and sockets of the LS 990 range from JUNG in matt graphite black and white pick up the high-contrast colour concept and blend naturally into the precisely constructed wall surfaces.
