Yaguquan Villa, Hangzhou | China
The Yaguquan Villa is a courtyard house in the classic Chinese style. It is situated on the banks of the famous West Lake in Hangzhou. The villa is constructed in wood – with wooden glazing bars and eaves that are so typical for traditional Chinese architecture. Further local materials and building elements in wood, stone, bamboo and brick are sensitively integrated into the architecture. The historic form is complemented by the traditional garden design. Landscape and architecture form a unit and complement each other.
Also in the interior of the villa there are many references to the traditions and the regional characteristics of the West Lake landscape. Combined with modern elements, they combine to a succinct style, which follows the Taoist philosophy of space. The design of the floor plan and the interior design of the villa come from DK INTERIOR DESIGN from Shenzhen. For the building control, the designers involved used the F 40 room controller from JUNG from the LS 990 range in classic brass and the KNX JUNG Smart Control 7 touch display. The modern building control elements in their classic form and material language fit harmoniously into the architectural design and the antique-modern style of the villa.
