The Fontenay, Hamburg | Germany

The Fontenay – the new luxury hotel in Hamburg – opened its doors in March 2018. Located on the Außenalster lake in the Rotherbaum district of Hamburg, this impressive five-star-plus hotel makes an impression with its curved window façade and white ceramic surfaces. The Fontenay aspires to symbolise the welcoming, cosmopolitan and hospitable character of modern Hamburg.

The design of this luxury hotel is by the star Hamburg architect, Jan Störmer. He drafted a building with a basic form consisting of three circles that merge together. The building consequently has no back with this special form. All the rooms are located on the outside so guests can enjoy a glorious view over the Alster. The glass covering a total area of 14,000 m2 ensures that the rooms are flooded with light and provides a broad equilibrium between a natural and urban environment. A prime feature of the hotel is its 20m long infinity pool with a view over the Alster.

The interior design of the hotel is defined by light cream colours. Warm colour tones ensure comfort and a feel-good atmosphere for the guests. The JUNG A creation range in champagne merges seamlessly with the design concept.
