Admiral Hotel | Denmark
An historic warehouse from 1987 directly on Copenhagen's harbour front has been transformed into the contemporary "ADMIRAL" city hotel. During the renovation, 366 rooms, a restaurant and conference rooms were integrated in the existing structure and combined into a clearly structured hotel complex.
The organisation of the establishment follows the logic of the existing building: public areas such as the restaurant, bar and event spaces develop from the lobby, while the rooms are arranged in the quieter zones. Visible wooden beams and the characteristic warehouse windows structure the rooms and create a vivid atmosphere between meticulous hospitality and the rugged maritime feel of the building.
The lighting concept and the material selection support this view. Subtle finishes allow the historic support structure to take effect, while finely tuned lighting ensures orientation and quality of stay. Technical elements remain consciously in the background but take on a central role in daily hotel operations.
The LS 990 switch range in white is integrated in this structure as a calm, graphical element on the walls. The clear styling of the LS range supports the creative line of the project and ensures a high level of comfort without catching the eye.
