The budget design hotel H2 Düsseldorf City, like all buildings of the H2 brand of H-Hotels GmbH, links innovative design with functional, modern equipment. The new building in the centre of Düsseldorf was opened at the beginning of May, 2022. The hotel with 250 rooms offers design-oriented twin and double rooms, as well as accommodation for four people, groups or families. The modern interior design comes from UNYKAT Interior Design GmbH from Wels in Austria. The development partner and landlord is a joint venture of bema Group and ABG Real Estate Group.
The simple perforated facade of the new building in the trendy "Le Quartier Central" quarter does not reveal the generosity offered inside to the guest. Alongside an open reception area, the H2 Hub has created a central destination of open areas for working and small meetings as well as a large, 280-seat restaurant with display cooking. A suspended grid ceiling reveals the ceiling installation, and diagonal front supports in concrete give the feeling of generosity and space. An industrial-modern flair results, which is slightly reminiscent of the lively goings-on at an airport.
The guest rooms are kept in the corporate design colours of blue, grey, black and wood tones. A dominating element in the design is the completely coloured walls in blue or black with the typical white circles of the hotel brand. The same colour and shape palette can also be seen in the modern bathrooms. Fitting to this, the A FLOW range from JUNG was chosen for the electrical installation in simple anthracite. A FLOW combines angular centre plates with round corners and thus represents a modern mix of styles. Integrated into the leather of the headboards, the A FLOW switches become a coherent design object.
