Atlantis - Tong Shore Villa, Hainan | China

A spacious holiday villa has been created in the middle of the Atlantis Resort area in Haitang Bay on the coast of Sanya. The design intends the building to be a private residence with the character of a resort which has evolved due to its location by the sea.

The spatial organisation follows a clear structure. Spacious living areas and recreational areas are oriented towards the garden and pool and open out to the exterior via room-high glass panels. Private areas are detached and offer protected relaxation rooms. The sequence of rooms is structured by views of the landscape and the sea which also shape the character of the house. The materials and surfaces determine the appearance of the interior. Natural stone, polished marble floors, light walls and wooden surfaces form a calm foundation. Brass-coloured metal elements, glass and textile materials set specific accents. In selected areas, ceiling and wall elements take on a space-creating function and structure the spacious interiors. The design links contemporary living concepts with local references, without making it excessively decorative. The room arrangement is supplemented by leisure areas such as a lounge and home cinema which form independent zones within the house. Indirect lighting and accent lighting support the room layout and enable different usage scenarios. 

The LS 990 switch range from JUNG in classic brass picks up the materials and colour scheme of the interior. A KNX system controls the lighting, air conditioning as well as further functions and supports the high expectation of comfort.
