Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin,Noordwijk | Netherlands

High society holiday

The elegant 5-star Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk, Netherlands is nestled up against the North Sea, just 100 metres from the beach. Opened in 1885 at the behest of the then mayor, and now steeped in tradition, the hotel has hosted numerous distinguished guests since its inception, including high-ranking politicians, members of European royalty and glamourous acting icons. The hotel’s own helipad helps to ensure the comfort, convenience and independence of its guests.

The 1960s saw the hotel change hands several times, eventually becoming the property of a project developer that planned to demolish the building. The local council of Noordwijk put up strenuous opposition, allowing the current owning family to ultimately acquire the Grand Hotel.

In January 1990, a large part of the hotel was damaged in a fire, which resulted in the hotel’s present form of two wings: the Grand Hotel and the Nouvel Hotel. Untouched by the fire, the Grand Hotel rises over five floors. The Nouvel Hotel, which was built after the fire, consists of eleven floors, of which nine are equipped with hotel rooms. In total, the hotel boasts 230 rooms, 22 suites, 4 penthouse suites and 19 multifunctional conference rooms.

5-star throughout

Spacious rooms, many with unobstructed views of the North Sea, offer free Wi-Fi. With an indoor pool, spa, wellness and beauty facilities as well as a fitness centre, the hotel offers its guests rest and relaxation of the highest calibre. Various recreational amenities, including tennis courts and bike hire, guarantee sporting action.

Latour, a Michelin starred restaurant, cares for the well-being of the guests when it’s time for fine dining. The head chef pampers guests with French cuisine as they enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the beaches of Noordwijk. Alternatively, guests can dine at the Brasserie La Terrasse, which has two terraces overlooking the beach.
