In the apartment complex Lotte Castle Eastpole in Seoul, the interior design firm THE GREIN has implemented an apartment which combines contemporary living with clear spatial organisation.

The starting point of the planning was the reorganisation of the sequence of rooms. The kitchen, dining area and living room were developed into a coherent layout without relinquishing their respective functions. Floor coverings, furniture and fittings divide the room and enable different uses within an open structure. Large glazed units bring daylight deep into the apartment and open up the view over the city.

A space-defining wall element in the entrance area takes on several tasks. It functions as a storage space and room divider and uses reflections to enhance the impression of depth given by the layout. Curved wall profiles and reserved lighting support the spatial continuity. The reduced colour palette and the precise use of materials allow volumes and proportions to clearly come to the fore. The private areas also follow this approach. The bedrooms have a tranquil design and work with muted colour tones, textile surfaces and targeted lighting. The bathrooms are formulated as stand-alone rooms. Custom-made washbasins, integrated shelves and contrasting materials structure their usage without visually overloading the space. The LS 990 range in matt snow white was selected for the electrical installation. The reduced styling and the matt finish are naturally integrated in the material and colour concept of the apartment. The equipment is complemented by the JUNG Smart Radio.
