"Seaside Forest" apartment, Palanga | Lithuania

With the "Seaside Forest" apartment in Palanga, NOUS interior has developed a living concept which picks up the characteristic landscape of the Lithuanian Baltic coast and converts it into a precisely created interior design. 

Inspired by the surrounding pine forests, dunes and the sea, an interior was created which not only illustrates the atmosphere of the location but can also be experienced spatially. Large-scale glazing opens up the rooms to the surrounding nature and lets daylight penetrate deep into the apartment. Organically formed wall surfaces reflect the movement of the coastal landscape and give the interior a sculptural quality. The sand-coloured parquet flooring is reminiscent of the dune landscape and is a connecting element throughout the apartment. Dark stained wooden surfaces set a calm contrast and give depth and presence to the rooms. Natural stone in warm, earthy tones supplements the material palette and combines the individual areas into a consistent whole. The design follows a clear, minimised script. Carefully selected materials, fluid transitions and customised fittings create a tranquil atmosphere which is both high-quality and natural. Instead of purely decorative effects, the concept relies on proportion, materiality and handmade precision. An interior is thus created which radiates stability and makes the connection to nature as a central point. The electrical installation blends consistently into this concept. Switches and sockets from the JUNG LS 990 range in stainless steel complement the natural material palette with their clear geometry and reserved impression.
