Studio Nimmersatt, Seminyak, Bali | Indonesia

The name says it all: "Nimmersatt" means "insatiable" in German. And that exactly describes the attitude of the lighting design studio of that name on Bali. It is always curious, always moving and always open to new impressions.

The office for the studio can be found in the centre of Seminyak on Bali. It serves not only as a workplace, but also as an expression of their own design approach. The rooms combine different influences and materials into one atmospheric unit. Industrial elements such as pipes mounted in the open and visible cabling meet natural materials such as wood, rattan and clay. Coloured accents, hand-finished artworks and personal objects complement the feeling of the room. The result is a creative place, that is both functional and alive. In interiors, consciously placed contrasts can be seen. White walls, strong terracotta tiles and coloured luminaires provide structure to the room. The furnishings are functional and partially specially made or found. Plants and daylight are important elements of the room design and underscore the open character of the studio.

For the lighting technology, the LS CUBE design range in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier was chosen. Their reduced form and their finish for surface mounting fit the industrial impression of the space. The combination of colours is particularly conspicuous: yellow frames with blue buttons and red inserts with pink sockets. This conscious selection of colours not only creates visual accents, it also supports the orientation in the room. The system is complemented with KNX F-50 push-buttons, which enable flexible control of the lighting.
