The new headquarters of the Indonesian manufacturing company Tigermandiri lies at the edge of the city centre of Jakarta in the rapidly changing district of Cideng. The building was conceived so that it creates a lasting presence due to its tectonic qualities in contrast to the plain glass facades which are predominant in the contemporary business architecture in Jakarta.

Unlike the local, conventional office buildings, the building by Csutoras & Liando appears like a stack of terrazzo tiles which are carried by repeated rows of columns. The tiles overhang the row of columns to provide shade and protect against rain. According to the alignment of the property, the projection at the front and rear of the building is smaller whereas the column rhythm at the sides is thicker. The structure of the facade thus not only guarantees efficient sun protection but also takes into account different requirements in the private sphere compared to the high neighbouring buildings. The entrance area, which is separated by a glass screen and raised by 1.2 metres, is an acoustic barrier against the busy street and includes the lobby with a café and an exhibition space. A spiral staircase in the two-storey, central cavity links the mezzanine with a row of meeting rooms and offices.

A spacious canteen is located on the second floor which can also be used for corporate events and training courses. The five floors above offer office space whereby the lift core and building technology have been designed so that different office configurations are possible. In the uppermost storey are the office and lounge of the managing director as well as a conference room with a view of a roof terrace planted with greenery. High-quality materials emphasise the representative requirements of the clients. JUNG's products contribute to this effect with the LS 990 switch range in stainless steel and white. The interior design has been conceived as timeless and the whole building presents itself as robust in the rapidly changing city of Jakarta, one of the largest urban centres in the world.
