Mrs Mir's apartment, Paris | France

The layout of the apartment located on Rue Pierre Demours in the 17th arrondissement of Paris has been reorganised. The starting point for the design was the request of the owner to relocate the kitchen to the living area to make space for a master suite.

This should function as an standalone sleeping area which is simultaneously integrated in the overall structure of the apartment. During the implementation, all the partition walls were removed, the ceilings redone and the floor completely replaced. The technical reorganisation played a central role. Only this element enabled the precise formulation of the new layout. The living and dining area now forms the heart of the apartment. The kitchen, workspace and recreational areas are openly connected with each other and yet clearly structured. The office that is oriented towards the kitchen area uses the existing lighting conditions and opens up additional lines of sight. A compact staircase leads to a mezzanine level with an additional sleeping area for the children. The design is characterised by customised wooden fittings which offer storage, separate the rooms and serve as pieces of furniture. Natural stone surfaces in the kitchen and dining area define functional zones. In the bathrooms, dark-coloured tiles meet light surfaces and precisely planned fittings. The LS 990 switch range in brass and gold was used for the electrical installation.

LS 990 in Classic brass

A prestigious interior derives its appeal from exclusive effects. The design switches in high-grade metal versions satisfy this standard outstandingly well. Cool stainless steel, aluminium or attractive anthracite, chrome or precious gold plating – they lend a special touch wherever the emphasis is on the extra-special. Two variations of genuine brass complement the portfolio: Classic with a bright, softly polished finish, antique suitable for traditional interiors.
