The makers from the SBS film studios rely on JUNG
“Penthouse” is the current hit series of the SBS channel in South Korea. The first series, that finished at the beginning of 2021, was watched by more than 30 % of television viewers. “Penthouse” also kept making headlines in the newspapers and on the Internet. The centre of the story is the fictitious Hera Palace, a luxurious apartment block with more than 100 floors. The residents, old money and new-rich upstarts, naturally have their secrets and concealed ambitions that regularly lead to small and large dramas. They watch each other jealously, begrudge the status, wealth and success of each other and generate absurd intrigues. It is well received by the public. Series 2 and 3 are already planned and will soon be running.
Filming is in the SBS studios in Gyeonggi. JUNG has supplied numerous products for the luxurious furnishing of the various apartment sets. The clever part is that the JUNG switches and sockets used are tailored to the characters and their personalities. In the rooms of the dark-minded CEO, who does not shrink from murder to achieve success, black aluminium switches in the LS 990 Dark range are used. The apartment of the noble heroine of the series is equipped with the classic LS 1912 switch range in classic brass. It conveys the natural dignity and noble disposition of the queen of the series. LS 990 stainless steel switches, on the other hand, stand symbolically for the steely, cold-hearted opera diva, while light grey LS 990 characterises the simple, middle-class woman who dreams of moving further up the social ladder. The traditional apartment of the Korean master chef, on the other hand, is equipped with LS 990 brass switches, which underscore the dignified atmosphere of the wood-panelled rooms.
In the other sets as well, such as the lobby, the bar, shops and offices, JUNG switches in the LS 990 and LS 1912 ranges were used. Innovative KNX technology in the background looks after all the control.

LS 1912 in classic brass
Based on the JUNG switch of the early years, the LS 1912 rocker switch turns the switching mechanics into a new experience. The switch mechanism is designed so that the cover closes flush with the frame. Only the rocker lever rises out of the unit as style element. JUNG transfers the many years of experience in metalworking into an elegant selection of materials – from aluminium, via stainless steel and brass to chrome.
LS 990 in light grey
The classic among the flat switches Thanks to its high quality and clear shape, the LS 990 switch range has already proved its worth for about 50 years. The classic form of this switch with its narrow frame fits harmoniously into any surroundings. Purist elegance in thermosetting plastic or genuine metal lend this series a touch of class. A wide variety of applications are possible thanks to the wide functional spectrum. Thus, architecturally demanding visions can be consistently put into practice.
