The story of JUNG’s LS range began in 1966 with a design that has lost none of its relevance to this day. Its true roots, however, go back further. LS did not arise from a desire for a new form, but from a design philosophy that has characterised JUNG since 1912: to develop solutions that work for the long term. The switch range is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The idea on which it is based is even older.

The LS range owes its development not only to the engineers in JUNG’s development department, but also to the ongoing dialogue with architects. New materials, functions and applications have repeatedly emerged from the specific requirements of practical planning. JUNG would like to thank everyone who has supported the LS range over the past 60 years with their projects, ideas and trust. Le 30 juin 1967, le brevet pour la construction du système modulaire LS est déposé - une étape qui est aujourd'hui considérée comme un jalon dans l'architecture des interrupteurs. Au moment du dépôt, il est toutefois impossible de prévoir la portée que ce principe constructif va développer. L'idée d'une structure modulaire clairement structurée crée la base d'une architecture de système qui allie liberté de conception et précision technique. Le principe de construction sous-jacent permet de séparer systématiquement la fonction et le design. Cette approche augmente la flexibilité de la planification et garantit la continuité du système à long terme.
Pour les architectes, ce principe signifie avant tout une chose : la fiabilité dans la conception. Le système modulaire LS est synonyme de précision dimensionnelle, de réduction et de lignes formellement claires, qui s'intègrent dans les contextes architecturaux les plus divers - des bâtiments existants classés monuments historiques aux nouvelles constructions contemporaines. Ce qui a commencé en 1967 comme une innovation constructive s'est transformé en une idée de système durable. Le dépôt de brevet ne marque donc pas seulement l'origine d'une solution technique, mais aussi le début d'une continuité architecturale pertinente qui dure encore aujourd'hui.
