Embro headquarters, Falkenstein | Germany
With its new headquarters, Embro GmbH has brought together its production, development and administration areas in one location. The building ensemble of the technical embroidery company emerged in the industrial estate of Falkenstein/Vogtland and was implemented as an integrated planning and building project by the Vollack Group.
The new structure is divided into a production hall and warehouse as well as a two-storey building for offices and social areas. It offers space for 45 employees on a total floor area of approx. 2,700 m2. The architectural expression follows practical industrial architecture with a clear structure and reduced design. The facade is kept in neutral grey and white tones and accentuated by red areas which as the corporate colour of Embro create identity and recognition in the commercial environment.
Robust, functional materials dominate the interior. Visible concrete surfaces, open technical installations and linear strip lights characterise the image in the production hall. The design follows the requirements for efficient work processes, clarity and sustainability. The basic industrial approach in the office, meeting rooms and social areas is supplemented by warmer materials. Wooden surfaces on doors and fittings, grey floor coverings and light wall surfaces generate a calm and businesslike working environment. The colour red also appears here repeatedly in the furniture, lockers and graphical elements and serves as a connecting design element between the different functional areas.
The rebuild was carried out to meet the energy-efficiency standard "KIW 55". The technical equipment includes heat pumps and ceiling induction devices for heating and cooling. A photovoltaic system on the roof surfaces supports the self-generation of electricity. The aim of the technical concept is an energy-efficient operation while ensuring the climatic conditions necessary for production are maintained.
The electrical and building technology of the rebuild is based on central, networked control. A KNX system from JUNG is used to operate the lighting, heating and blinds. The control is carried out via push-buttons of the series F 40 and F 50 as well as via room controllers. Radios or temperature controllers are additionally integrated in the multi strips. Different JUNG series are used creatively. In the offices and representative areas, switches of the LS 990 range are used in black, white and aluminium. Components of the AS 500 range are installed in functional areas including temperature controllers and sockets. The selection of the series follows the respective usage requirements of the different building areas.

KNX F 50 push-button sensors
Form meets function in the designs in the AS, A, CD, and LS ranges. The optional transparent or coloured design cover, the RGB LEDs for indicating status and operation as well as the illuminated integrated labelling field with brightness control round off the design concept.
KNX room controller
Easily operating philosophy: This elegant room control unit with its graphic display and large buttons combines lighting control with shade, temperature and a Multirooming feature.
KNX system
Smart building automation combines convenience, security and energy efficiency. For this reason KNX has already become the standard worldwide for high-class private and commercial construction. The smart JUNG KNX solutions combine function, design and intuitive ease of operation.
KNX F 40 push-buttons
A variety of functions available in the the A, LS, FLAT DESIGN and LS DESIGN ranges. With the F 40 push-button sensors, the operation of the KNX functions is easily achieved with large control buttons. These can be individually labelled as required by using the GRAPHIC TOOL.
LS 990 in white
Thanks to its high quality and clear shape, the LS 990 switch range has already proved its worth for about 50 years. The classic form of this switch with its narrow frame fits harmoniously into any surroundings. Purist elegance in thermosetting plastic or genuine metal lend this series a touch of class. A wide variety of applications are possible thanks to the wide functional spectrum. Thus, architecturally demanding visions can be consistently put into practice. The single to fivefold frames can be fitted horizontally or vertically.

AS 500
The standard when it comes to form and function The AS 500 range forms a harmonious unit in terms of form and function. The lines run smoothly and harmoniously, and the angle in the rocker area creates a visual accent. All the frames and covers have uniform styling in the colours ivory and white. The wide variety on this range allows it to be used in demanding electrical installations as well.
LS 990 in Aluminium
The design switches in high-grade metal versions satisfy this standard outstandingly well. Cool stainless steel, aluminium or attractive anthracite, chrome or precious gold plating – they lend a special touch wherever the emphasis is on the extra-special. Two variations of genuine brass complement the portfolio: Classic with a bright, softly polished finish, antique suitable for traditional interiors.
