In 2026, the JUNG Architecture Talks are celebrating their 20th anniversary. Building networks, gaining insights, enjoying inspiring talks and engaging in professional dialogue in a relaxed atmosphere – this is what our format continues to stand for.
On 8 October, our event format will be taking place in Hamburg for the 18th time. This year’s evening at the Freie Akademie der Künste will be held under the motto Building Dreams. Together with our guests, we want to explore contemporary residential houses. One thing is clear: despite all current societal debates, the dream of a detached house in the countryside is far from over. Rather, the challenge is to find contemporary answers – through location-specific solutions, sustainable materials and adaptable floor plans.
Look forward to inspiring keynotes by Holger Lohrmann of the Stuttgart-based office lohrmannarchitekten, Susanne Brorson of STUDIO SUSANNE BRORSON from Bergen on Rügen, and Robin van Beveren of the Belgian architecture office BASIL architecture from Aalter.
The evening will be moderated by Anne Zuber, editor-in-chief of HÄUSER.

HOLGER LOHRMANN
LOHRMANNARCHITEKTEN, STUTTGART
Holger Lohrmann studied architecture in the 1990s at the University of Stuttgart, the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and the University of Westminster in London. During his time in London, he worked at David Chipperfield Architects. In 1998, he also attended the Monte Carasso Summer Academy under the direction of Luigi Snozzi, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Álvaro Siza, before graduating in 1999 under David Chipperfield and Peter Cheret at the University of Stuttgart. In 2001, he founded lohrmannarchitekten in Stuttgart. From 2003 to 2018, Holger Lohrmann held various teaching positions at the University of Stuttgart, including at the Institute of Housing and Design (Prof. Thomas Jocher) and the Institute of Public Buildings and Design (Prof. Arno Lederer, Prof. Alexander Schwarz).

SUSANNE BRORSON
STUDIO SUSANNE BRORSON, BERGEN ON RÜGEN
Susanne Brorson, born in Stralsund in 1979, studied architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar and graduated in 2004. As part of her studies, she spent time at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Politecnico di Milano and the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. After working at renowned architecture offices in Oslo, London and Berlin, she founded her own award-winning office, STUDIO SUSANNE BRORSON, on the Baltic island of Rügen. The work of her office is closely linked to her research on vernacular and climate-responsive architecture in the Baltic region. As early as 2017, Susanne established the teaching format Baltic Vernacular – An Experimental Laboratory, which she has taught at various schools of architecture and which combines design research with 1:1 experiments.

ROBIN VAN BEVEREN
BASIL ARCHITECTURE, AALTER (BE)
Robin Van Beveren, born in 1981, studied architecture at KU Leuven and graduated in 2004. He first worked at Tomas Nollet & Hilde Huyghe Architects before moving to Gino Debruyne & Architects. There, he rose to the position of lead architect by 2013 and led a team of ten staff members before founding his own office, Architectuuratelier 9a. He began his independent professional career with the award-winning Corten steel house WAVP in Bruges. Since 2019, he has served as an expert on the urban planning commission of the city of Bruges (Gecoro), where he advises local communities on spatial development. In 2020, he founded BASIL architecture together with his husband Lorenzo Deceuninck. Since then, both the office itself and the scope and diversity of its projects have continued to grow. He is excited to see what the future will bring.
