Town House - Kingston University, London
The Town House of Kingston University, London, by Grafton Architects is awarded for its remarkable spatial quality that creates an excellent atmosphere for studying, dancing, gathering, and community.

The building houses dance, library and study spaces, with various silence levels and sound zones. The Mies van der Rohe Award is given to a university building in order to set an example for the increasing need for educational projects of the highest quality. Grafton Architects can demonstrate a great deal of expertise in educational building construction.

Architects make an important contribution within the urban dynamic to putting citizens' concerns on paper. Among other things, we stimulate debates and discussions about the use of spaces, urban models, citizen participation and the restoration of cultural heritage," they explain, describing their participatory approach.
LA BORDA Cooperative Housing, Barcelona
Lacol's La Borda cooperative housing complex in Barcelona is exceptional both in terms of its conception and its realisation process. While housing production is usually dominated by macroeconomic interests, this model is based on co-ownership and the shared management of resources and capacity.
