Pop meets function: JUNG UNIQUE x Marie Van Eijk
Can a switch be more than just a functional operating element? The new JUNG UNIQUE collection shows how technology, design and visual communication can work together. In collaboration with graphic and brand identity designer Marie Van Eijk, JUNG has developed individual designs that turn switches into graphic statements in their own right.
Geometric shapes, clean lines and a visual language inspired by pop and retro aesthetics define the designs. Yet they are about more than aesthetics alone: the illustrations make functions intuitively understandable and provide orientation directly at the operating element. In this way, the switch becomes both a design element and a means of visual communication.
From boutique hotels to luxury interiors
The collection demonstrates how differently this approach can be interpreted for a range of hotel environments. For boutique and business hotels, Marie Van Eijk uses illustrations in striking pop and retro colours. In more luxurious settings, engravings on dark aluminium create a refined, understated appearance. Engraved motifs on antique brass, meanwhile, complement interiors with a classic or individual character. Material, colour, motif and finish thus become part of a holistic interior concept – with the switch as a detail that consistently carries the design through.

Marie Van Eijk is a graphic and brand identity designer. Her work is characterised by the interplay of colours, shapes, lines, typography and contrasts, combined with a focus on simplicity, harmony and visual clarity. Create your own design: The JUNG UNIQUE platform gives you the freedom to customise operating elements in your buildings and use them as an additional means of communication. Colours, typography, design and content can be freely defined. JUNG UNIQUE is a tool for project-specific customisation, offering extensive control over the final result – from the switch range to the finish and colour, as well as symbols, images and text. These can be supplied as vector or pixel files and applied to switches, sockets or push-buttons using colour printing or laser engraving.
