JUNG UNIQUE x Melon Breakers: Tangram in colours
Switches are among the most frequently used items in a room. They are touched without being noticed and used without question. Yet they are the interface between people and architecture, and moments of decisive interaction. The design, material and colour determine whether operation is intuitive, clear or even emotional.
After collaborating with the Ippolito Fleitz Group, Marie van Eijk, GRAFT and Komo, JUNG has now joined forces with the Spanish creative studio Melon Breakers to continue the JUNG UNIQUE series. The studio is renowned for its strategic and narrative approach to brand and interior design, viewing design as an active cultural force. JUNG UNIQUE is more than a limited product line: it is a platform for creativity, discussion and collaboration with internationally renowned design studios.
JUNG UNIQUE x Melon Breakers: Scalable. Versatile. Contextual.
The collection has a modular design and includes different colour systems, ranging from single-colour accents to multi-coloured variants and bold, contrasting combinations. Although originally designed for educational spaces, the system's open design means it can be used in libraries, offices, public buildings and private living spaces, offering new possibilities for architects and planners. With JUNG UNIQUE x Melon Breakers, JUNG demonstrates how design, colour and function can be combined to achieve a new standard of design quality.
The collection exemplifies JUNG UNIQUE's vision of reimagining technical products as cultural, spatial, and dialogue-oriented interfaces. The new JUNG UNIQUE x Melon Breakers collection will be presented for the first time at Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt am Main.

Colour, shape and orientation: Tangram as a visual language
Tangram forms the basis of the design concept – as a geometric system that conveys clarity and structure. Not decorative, but functional: reduced, unambiguous and culturally universal. The square shape of the JUNG classic LS 990 has been further developed and supplemented with a precise iconographic system – with symbols for light, ventilation, temperature and sound.
Colour is used to differentiate between functions. It provides orientation and makes processes intuitively comprehensible. In educational buildings, it supports independent action, while in hotels it strengthens identity and atmosphere. In this way, switches, buttons and sockets become clear communication elements in the room. The JUNG UNIQUE x Melon Breakers collection turns functional elements into a visual language.
