AIRA Penthouse Tower A, Kuala Lumpur | Malaysia

The penthouse functions as a vacation home for a family who enjoys the outdoors and beaches, their permanent residence is located by the sea. With that in mind, the atmosphere we wanted to achieve was a relaxed one amid its location in urban Kuala Lumpur.

The development’s original interior concept exurb a modern contemporary feeling with minimal colours. As such, we reduced the starkness of the penthouse by introducing a mixture of natural wood and stone etched with local design elements and features. For one, we changed the solid timber doors to light oak screen doors that encourage air flow and natural light between rooms and living spaces. We further lightened the mood by carving out openings; this treatment is carried through from the lift lobby until the central foyer of the living space. Exotic and luscious rainforest vegetation were also planted into their living spaces which overlook the skyline of the city. On top of this, Smarthome and security systems were also incorporated into the project, enabling the owners to remotely monitor and control the penthouse.

A prestigious interior derives its appeal from exclusive effects. The design switches in high-grade metal versions satisfy this standard outstandingly well. Cool stainless steel, aluminium or attractive anthracite, chrome or precious gold plating – they lend a special touch wherever the emphasis is on the extra-special. Two variations of genuine brass complement the portfolio: Classic with a bright, softly polished finish, antique suitable for traditional interiors.
