In the new offices of andOFFICE in Stuttgart, the firm of architects has created a flexible and individual working environment that is ideally tailored to the individual requirements and at the same time a showcase for the widest variety of wooden materials.

To do so, a previous storage area was completely gutted and converted into an open world of work with zones for different activities using furniture and carpentry fixtures matching the existing space. The open office continues to be influenced by the previous character of the storage area in a light grey tone and with robust wooden fixtures. 24 workplaces are available at large desks in birch plywood on two hollow OSB platforms. Wardrobe boxes in natural MDF along the sides create a screen from the entrance area and are equipped on the back with acoustic wood fibre boards with perforations. On the opposite side of the hall, there are three acoustically and visually enclosed boxes in the same material, intended for concentrated work. In the middle between the two platforms, an open structure in spruce timbers marks out a free space that can be used for meetings, creative work or as a model-building zone with wheeled furniture.

In a multifunctional neighbouring section, where the colour design has been kept cosier and more homely, there is a meeting room, a small kitchen with coffee lounge and a sanitary area with shower. The walls and ceilings have been washed in a warm sienna colour. Particular accents in walls and wooden fixtures are set by the LS 990 switches and sockets from JUNG in the L’ocre rouge moyen colour, a medium terracotta tone, from the Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier range. The earthy and warm colour conveys homely cosiness and ideally creates the connection between the wall colour and the natural colouring of the grainy Aleppo pine in the fixed furnishings where the electrical operating elements of the LS range are installed. Separating walls with wooden strip cladding in white fir extend the tone-in-tone colour palette.

The conclusion is the honest, raw and at the same time inviting aesthetic of a modern working environment. The employees like spending time here and use the cosy side area for private events outside of the working time as well.
